This course is specifically designed to ensure that Nurse on Call recruits the best and most suitable people to meet the needs of our client Hospitals. First and foremost we are looking for people with experience who are suitable to our needs. Secondly we are looking for people who have the empathy, communication skills and shared experiences that we require all Carers to have to relate to patients. The most suitable people will be given first option on our courses.
We hold one course a month so competition for places is very keen. We reserve the right to decide who is suitable and who is not.
The course duration is 6 full days in the classroom and a day of assessment the following week of the course. Attendance on all days is essential for certification including the assessment day. The first three days of the course are Care skills and are carried out by skillnet and lead to a fetac recognition. If you successfully complete the course and are deemed suitable you will automatically be given priority for all shifts Monday To Friday. (Student Nurses get priority at the weekends as requested by Client Hospitals)
Doing the "Carer Refresher Course" does not guarantee shifts with Nurse On Call.
